Counselling service and support is available to every student
There are three College Psychologists at St Aloysius’ who are part of the Year 3 – 12 College Counselling team. They are registered Psychologists with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) who work collaboratively with the staff and parents to support student wellbeing.
One College Psychologist is dedicated to the Junior School.
Appointments can be organised via self-referral, parent referral or teacher referral.
The College Psychologists will:
Provide individual counselling to students who experience social or emotional difficulties
- Run specialised groups or individual programs for specific needs such as social skills, social emotional skills, family loss, depression and anxiety
- Consult on parenting and family issues
- Liaise with mental health practitioners in coordinating case management
- Work collaboratively with other staff on student support
The College Counsellors run a range of early intervention and prevention programs as well as in-class programs to promote student mental health and wellbeing.
