Keeping boys active and healthy is a huge priority
The Junior School is a member of the Independent Primary Schools Heads of Australia (IPSHA) which provides sporting and co-curricular competition. All team members in both summer and winter sports must attend weekly training sessions and commit to a Saturday match.
Summer Sport Commitment
While not compulsory, students in Years 3 to 6 are encouraged to participate in summer team sports that are played throughout Term I and Term IV on Saturday mornings. Cricket, Basketball, Tennis, Touch Football and Water Polo are available. Years 3/4 can trial to join one of two Basketball teams and if not successful they may trial for Cricket. Water Polo is and Touch Football are both offered for students in Years 5 and 6 with two combined teams.
Students who have prior commitments in club cricket may choose to continue to play club cricket instead of for the College should they wish to finish out the season with them but it is important to remember that those students who do not play cricket for the College in Term I cannot play for the College in
Term IV as it is a continuation of the season.
Winter Sport Commitment
All Junior School students are required to represent the College in winter and are encouraged to play either Rugby (Years 3 to 6), Football (Years 3 to 6) or AFL (Years 5 and 6 only).
During the year, students can also trial for the athletics, swimming and cross country teams.
