OUR COACH
Our Coach - Owen Muyt
Owen Muyt attended St Aloysius', graduating in 1977. His sporting achievements at the school included Vice Captain of the Athletics Team (1977), Member of the swim team (1977), Member of the First XV (1976 & 77) and CAS First XV of New South Wales.
Owen's skiing background is:
- APSI (Australian Professional Ski Industry) Level 1 Alpine & Children's Programme
- CSCA (Canadian Ski Coach Association) Level 1 Ski Racing Coach
- Ski Instructor at Perisher's Smiggins Holes Ski School since 1998.
Owen is also a well accomplished yachtsman, having competed in many of the major yachting events including the America's Cup, Admiral's Cup, Kenwood Cup, and The Southern Cross. He has also survived 7 Sydney to Hobart Races, so our boys should be smooth sailing for Owen!
Training Program
Owen has proposed the following option for our boys:
- Dry Land Training which aims to develop skiing and snowboarding skills in a constructive and fun format including a mix of aerobic, balancing and weight resistant training drills. Perhaps a Parent Training Programme could also be negotiated!
- On Snow Training An exclusive programme with Perisher Ski Resort using their specially selected race instructors, supervised by the SAC Coach.
- Ski Camp. Local and Canadian camps are an option subject to the level of interest.
Meet Owen at our Registration and Information Day
(come early and join him for training at 3pm)
on Sunday April 3 2005 at the College Oval.
