Extended Community Services

Redfern Jarjum College

Redfern Jarjum College began in 2013 to assist urban Aboriginal children who were not participating or coping in mainstream schools. Jarjum (the name for ‘children’ in the Bundjalung language) supports primary aged students who are not well engaged at school and have fallen behind in education for reasons of disadvantage. The school is small in number of students and offers an alternative learning centre to support children’s transition into mainstream education. It embraces special assistance educational programs and after-school activities. The curriculum and pastoral care endeavour to attend to the wellbeing of each child.  This school relies on the support of the St Aloysius’ family. Please contact the College Development Office if you would like to make a donation.

East Timor Jesuit Mission Appeal

Support for Jesuit Education in East Timor is a major focus for the fundraising efforts of St Aloysius’ College.  At Kasait in East Timor, a High School, San Ignacio de Loiola, and a teacher training college, St John de Brito College are being established. The Australian Jesuit Province through our schools and parishes have made this a priority for our support over the next five years. You can donate to this online via Jesuit Mission. In the payment details please direct the campaign to St Aloysius’ College – Kasait East Timor appeal.
