2007 School Certificate
The College has received a pleasing set of results in the School Certificate for 2007.
Some of the significant features include:
- Outstanding results in Australian History. 43% of our candidature were awarded a Band 6 (90 & above) compared to 6% state-wide. This reflects the strength of History at SAC, following similar outstanding results in 2006.
- A continuation of the greatly improved performance in English literacy achieved in 2006. The English faculty has worked hard to lift the profile and academic performance of our boys in English. Like their colleagues in History, our English staff are ensuring that our students are well read and very literate
- Maintaining the recent excellent results in Geography in with 27% of our students achieving a band 6 result
- 3 “all-rounders” received a Band 6 result for every subject. These boys were: T. Kingston, H. Power, M. Rubic. This is a tremendous achievement. Congratulations to those students.
The results indicate the following:
- There is a growing culture of academic achievement within the middle years of schooling at St. Aloysius
- The hard work of staff to enable students to achieve to their potential
- Despite the commitment to extensive co-curricular , service , cultural and liturgical programmes; academic achievement is maintained while hoping to grow well rounded “men for others”
The following tables compare School Certificate results over the past five years at St. Aloysius College.
