St Aloysius' College

Curriculum

The College curriculum strongly emphasises intellectual formation and the development of independent learning. The electives are directed towards a liberal education, giving equal respect to the humanities and the sciences.

In the Senior School, the promotion of independent learning and research skills are promoted in a developmental sequence.

Given the academic demands of the curriculum, it has been found that a student needs above average scholastic ability to be comfortable with this style of learning. The ambition of most of our students is towards university training and accordingly we provide courses and a style of teaching to suit, with a resultant high standard of examination results.
