The Junior School is a member of the Independent Primary Schools Heads of Australia (IPSHA) which provides sporting and co-curricular competition. All team members in both summer and winter sports must attend weekly before and/or after school training sessions as well as the Saturday match commitment.

Summer Sport Commitment

While not compulsory, students in Years 3 to 6 are encouraged to participate in summer team sports that are played throughout Term I and Term IV on Saturday mornings. Cricket, which is played in Year levels, is the main sport offered. Basketball, Tennis and Water Polo are available for those students who do not wish to trial for Cricket teams. For Years 3/4 combined there will be two Basketball teams for which the students may trial, if not successful they may trial for Cricket. Water Polo is offered for students in Years 5 and 6 with two combined teams.

Students who have prior commitments in club cricket may choose to continue to play club cricket instead of for the College should they wish to finish out the season with them but it is important to remember that those students who do not play cricket for the College in Term I cannot play for the College in Term IV as it is a continuation of the season.

Winter Sport Commitment

Students have the opportunity to trial for the College’s Athletics, Swimming and Cross Country teams. All Junior School students are required to represent the College and are encouraged to play either Rugby (Years 3 to 6), Football (Years 3 to 6) or AFL (Years 5 and 6 only) throughout the winter season. Both Rugby and Football are played in age groups not Year levels. AFL is played in Year levels.
